4 out of 5 stars Gives Me a Workout   January 2, 2009
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

Okay, received the game, couldn't get some things to work, but was able to get a good workout right off the bat. There IS a learning curve, but the negative and positive review this game has gotten were helpful. To summmarize what I have learned.

1. this game is not as responsive/easy as wii fit

2. Use the option to use two CONTROLLERS instead of the controller and the nunchuk

3. READ the instructions for each exercise carefully

4. put some EFFORT into the moves - move more quickly and/or through a bigger range but do not overstretch or overdo it

5. This is a workout not a GAME.

I like it, it gives me incentive and I love the kayaking. The boxing is hard to get used to especially if you're used to the wii fit boxing. remember to pump your hands to get ready and WAIT for Jillian to tell you whether to kick or punch. It takes time to get coordinated for the tires and the overhead swinging ladder thing. Be patient.

No, the graphics are not the best, and the avatar does not respond as quickly as I'd like her to, I don't give a darn that she doesn't look like me, frankly she looks better and gives me something to aspire to. I don't care that I'm looking at the same scenery and I like that you can change the music, although once i get my ipod armband I'll probably just listen to that.

I love the feature where you can set your own workout, if it were up to me I'd kayak the whole time with some boxing thrown in. I have not tried anything but the weight loss as of yet, but i'm looking forward to it.

4 out of 5 stars Good for someone in bad shape!   January 2, 2009

I am in horrible shape so I find this game fine. I have used it twice and am not too worried about the lack of responsiveness in the remote or how the graphics look. it is a motivation for me to move and I am not complaining.

I like the fluidity of the excercises, unlike the 2 minutes of something on WiiFit before a change. I love wiifit, but I like this being a steady stream of different movements.

1 out of 5 stars Don't Bother   January 1, 2009
I was so exicted to get this game for Christmas. My husband and I were going to get fit for the New Year, but not with this game it was awful. I am really disappointed. The controllers are not long enough to follow the directions without choking yourself or getting neck burn, graphics are horrible and the game is just BORING and she tells you to stick a fork in it or your toast (very encouraging). Hoping the store will take back, if not I will have to write the company, YES it is that bad.

1 out of 5 stars Fitness Frustration   January 1, 2009

This "game" is extremely frustrating. Instructions for each "workout" and training phase are vague and there is no way to access them when you are in the middle of a routine. I am not sure how this can happen, but it seems like there is a significant delay and at times, zero response from the controllers and even the WiiFit board during these routines. This happens especially during any arm movement activities, like the monkey bars or the paintball throw. Running/jogging is also unnatural and it is far too easy to not get the desired leg workout and just swing your arms with the controllers. I think the whole point of this "game" is to offer some fun variety for working out, so you don't get bored running on a treadmill or a riding an exercise bike, but it seems like far too much work to figure out the vague instructions and controller movements (most of the time non-movements). However, with all of the frsutrating elements of this exercise game, I think I will stick to going old school and workout without my Wii.

1 out of 5 stars Complete Waste of Time and Money   December 31, 2008
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY-- Get Wii's "My Personal Trainer" instead. I just did Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum tonight for the first and last time. It was horrible and to top it off- I am even more mad that I wasted my workout time tonight on it! The program doesn't synch at all with what you are doing, it is repetitious and boring, and the voice keeps saying the same things over and over. It'll be on the curb with the trash this week...
